About us
Meet the dedicated members of the Hometown Custom Carts team.
Doug Lachance – Founder & Owner
With decades of experience in the manufacturing industry, Doug Lachance made a bold shift in 2019, turning a passion for golf carts into a thriving business. What started as a simple hobby quickly turned into something much bigger as he discovered the joy of working on carts that people of all ages love to drive. In just a few years,Hometown Custom Carts went from serving local customers to covering the whole of northern Ontario. For Doug, the focus has always been on building something that lasts—not just a product, but relationships with customers.
Tyler Rydall – Customization specialist
Tyler operated equipment at the local mill for seven years until it shut down. The closure of the plant was an opportunity for him to switch gears and build a business from the ground up with longtime friend Doug Lachance. Tyler loves working with his hands, being creative and solving problems. He takes great pride in turning his clients' custom golf cart dreams into reality.
Gerald Gervais – Service manager
Gerald Gervais makes sure operations are running smoothly. He has years of experience doing manual labour and using his hands-on mechanical skills to keep everything in top shape. Having known Doug Lachance since childhood (literally, since he was in diapers!), Gerald is happy to be part of a strong and close team. He loves meeting new people and delivering the highest level of service possible.
Nick Lamothe – Mechanic
A true "jack of all trades," Nick Lamothe has always been fascinated by mechanics and hands-on work. Growing up in a mechanical family, working on cars was more of a hobby than a job—until it became his career. At Hometown Custom Carts, he handles all the mechanical tasks that come his way. Nick loves a new challenge, whether it’s troubleshooting gas engines or diving into the world of electric carts.
